A guide to the assessment of Parish Rates
Information on rate assessing in Jersey has been updated and is set out in a document, published today.
The Chairmen of the twelve Assessment Committees have worked collaboratively to produce “A guide to the assessment of Parish Rates in Jersey” which has been approved by the Supervisory Committee. The guide explains how and when a rateable value is assessed, how to challenge an assessment and the Review and Appeal processes.
Indicative rateable values are provided for various types of property across the island based on the attributes of the property. Attributes, in respect of land, means the size, location, accommodation, condition and use of the land and the quality of any house, building or other structure in, on, under or over the land.
The guide is available here and through all Parish websites (see ‘About Rates’).
