Honorary Police – Long Service and Good Conduct Medal

The Honorary Police Long Service and Good Conduct Medal was instituted by Royal Warrant dated 1 December 2014 which was registered in the Royal Court on 12 December 2014.

The LSGCM is awarded in accordance with the Royal Warrant and the Regulations but, in summary, a Centenier, Vingtenier or Constable’s Officer must have been:

  • in service on or after 1st January 2012; and
  • have completed the required years of service (12 years for the medal; additional periods of 9 years for a bar to the medal) which may be continuous service or an aggregate and in more than one Parish or more than one office; and
  • his/her character and conduct must have been very good.

Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service (QAVS)

The Queen’s Golden Jubilee Award.

The Honorary Police were the first recipients in Jersey of the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Award for voluntary service by groups in the community (awarded in 2003).

Golden, Diamond and Platinum Jubilee medals for emergency services

To mark the Queen’s Golden Jubilee in 2002, Diamond Jubilee in 2012 and Platinum Jubilee in 2022, medals were awarded to members of the emergency services. Honorary Police officers who met the criteria (5 years reckonable service and in office on 6 February 2002, 2012 or 2022 respectively) receive these medals.
